The programme is to enable students to develop and to demonstrate a high level of professional practice through their research and creative practice; the course provides a critical dialogue linking theory with creative practice; the written element supports and reflects on the practice, which represents the main part of the original research.

Entry requirements

Applicants with a strong academic record and professional practice; students are advised to complete the MA in Fine Art before proceeding to the Doctorate.

Assessment methods

Assessment includes: Research proposal for registration; final exhibition examination; written critical review; record of professional practice; doctoral report; oral examination.
