The programme aims to develop a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of financial management, and to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to analyse complex situations that occur in financial decision-making; it examines the fundamental concepts and principles that underpin financial decisions, the techniques that are employed in effective financial decision-making, and considers finance theory and its application at a national and international level; it also covers recent developments in banking and finance such as financial regulation, finance in emerging markets, and Islamic banking and finance.
Minimum 2.2 Honours degree in business, finance, economics or in the applied mathematical sciences (or recognised international equivalent). IELTs 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Writing and Speaking 5.5 Reading and Listening.
Modules include: Financial reporting and analysis; corporate finance; portfolio management and banking; international finance; applied dissertation/project.
Assessment is through individual coursework (essays, reports, literature reviews); group projects (reports, presentations and case studies); examinations; dissertation.
