Human Rights

The course have a particularly strong track record of expertise in researching and teaching human rights. It is part of wider strength in international law. On this Master's course students gain regional, national and international perspectives on the issue of human rights, which continues to pre-occupy politicians, NGOs, the media and big business. As conflicts displace millions of people and minorities suffer at the hands of oppressive regimes, what role is there for international law - and can such a thing as human rights be upheld and enforced? If students are fascinated by these and other questions and motivated to understand what's going on in the world, this course is for you. It's likely that students have a background in law, social sciences, advocacy or journalism, but wherever students come from students are passionate about the issues covered by this popular course. Students are taught by leading researchers and if students want to keep on working and earn while students learn, students can. All of classes take place in the evening, with lectures also made available as podcasts and posted online.
