This programme is the evaluation of physiotherapy practice; it has been designed to meet the needs of international practising professionals and is delivered with a student-centred approach; completion of this course may assist with professional registration in the UK for physiotherapists with international qualifications.
A 2.1 degree (or above) or a diploma in physiotherapy leading to state registration in the UK, together with evidence of post-registration education and, normally, at least 2-3 years' post-qualification clinical practice.
Modules include: Foundations in research; clinical reasoning; evaluation of interventions in practice; major dissertation module; plus options including: muscles movement and exercise; gait, balance and posture; applied ergonomics in context; clinical ergonomics and occupational health; leading and managing clinical teams; optimising skill mix through work based learning; adults living with long term conditions; therapeutic intervention in adults with long term conditions; neurological theory and evidence based practice; complex cases in paediatrics; psychological, physical and social development of the healthy child; business planning in the clinical setting; improving evidence based health care services; managing the healthy athlete; sports rehabilitation: injury to optimal performance; evaluating application of electrophysical agents in practice.
Assessment is through coursework including: written and oral presentations, peer and self assessment, essays.
