Advanced Practice for Health Professions

The programme offers clinical staff practising in a range of disciplines the opportunity to construct an educational programme designed to meet their personal and professional needs; it is designed to give clinicians the opportunity to explore and evaluate the evidence base for their practice enabling them to develop more effective and innovative approaches to practice; the course is interdisciplinary and students work together exploring the contribution each discipline makes to patient care; students develop a better understanding of other disciplines and develop approaches to working together to provide a patient led service; modules offered cover a range of clinical specialities including: ergonomics, long term conditions, neurological rehabilitation, paediatrics, and sports injuries and rehabilitation.

Entry requirements

Minimum 2.2 Honours degree in a health related discipline. Professional registration with the relevant regulatory body from their home country and/or current membership of the relevant professional body. Relevant work experience is desirable but the applicant�s overall profile is considered during the admission process. Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in writing, speaking, reading and listening (or recognised equivalent).

Course modules

Evaluation of interventions in practice (option); gait, balance and posture (option); muscles movement and exercise (option); foundations in research (core); minor dissertation or major dissertation (core).

Assessment methods

We use coursework assignments to assess all of the modules on this course. Modules that include practical clinical skills may include a practical demonstration of skills and knowledge.
