This programme supports students in their exploration of their musical horizons, their musical language and its relationship to mainstreams and currents in the wider compositional world. All contemporary styles are supported, including electroacoustic music, and a wide range of subsidiary courses, such as orchestration and computer music, will add depth to their expertise.
Normally a 2.1 Honours degree or its equivalent in music; applicants must submit a portfolio comprising 3 samples of their composition work; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 7.0 (with at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL internet-based test 100 (with at least 20 in each module); PTE(A) 67 (with at least 56 in each of the communicative skills sections); or CPE grade B or CAE grade A.
