Students study possibilities of glass from the illumination of cathedrals, the skin of high-tech buildings to crafted objects in the genres of glass art and design production. Comprehensive workshop and studio facilities enable students to experience a programme in the conception and production of glass.

Entry requirements

A UK 2.1 Honours degree, or its international equivalent; any appropriate professional experience will also be considered; this programme requires the submission of a portfolio and study proposal; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL internet-based test 92 (with at least 20 in each module); PTE 61 (with at least 56 in each of the communicative skills sections); or CPE grade C or CAE grade B.

Assessment methods

For assessment, MA and MFA students produce a body of practical and written work on an agreed, self-initiated project.
