Comparative and European Private Law

Students study advanced legal training enabling them to identify and interpret problems relating to private law using tools of comparative analysis. As well as providing training in legal research, students gain an understanding of the main challenges for modern comparative law, including issues of European harmonization.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree or its equivalent; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 7.0 (with at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL internet-based test 100 (with at least 20 in each module); PTE(A) 67 (with at least 56 in each of the communicative skills sections); or CPE grade B or CAE grade A.nglish language requirement IELTS score of 7.0 or higher (with at least 6.0 in each section) or equivalent English language standard.

Course modules

Contract law in Europe; comparative property law; delict and tort; the anatomy of private law; comparative and international trust law; unjustified enrichment and restitution.
