Chinese Studies

On completion of the programme, students: are able to speak, read, write and understand Chinese (Mandarin); have a good knowledge of modern Chinese history, society and culture, and advanced knowledge of modern politics, economics, business or management; are able to communicate this knowledge effectively in speech and writing; have completed a dissertation on a topic related to contemporary Chinese politics, economics, business or management.

Entry requirements

Good Honours degree in an appropriate subject; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 7.0 (with at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL internet-based test 100 (with at least 20 in each module); PTE(A) 67 (with at least 56 in each of the communicative skills sections); or CPE grade B or CAE grade A.
