English Literature (Victorian Literature)
This programme offers students the opportunity to undertake a substantial piece of supervised independent research in their chosen field; the faculty can supervise research in any area of the field, and has particular strengths in social, historical and philosophical approaches to literature, in gender studies, and in the literary culture of the fin de si�cle.
A good 1st degree in relevant discipline, normally English literature; applicants must supply a sample of written work; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 7.0 (with at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL internet-based test 100 (with at least 20 in each module); PTE(A) 67 (with at least 56 in each of the communicative skills sections); or CPE grade B or CAE grade A.
