Learning for Sustainability
The course is an opportunity to study international educational responses to global issues and benefit from Scotlands position as one of the leading countries in the world in the field. The programme has also been designed in response to recent policy declarations by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (Revised Professional Standards) and the Scottish Government. The course seeks to understand and contribute to the ways schooling, community and higher education respond to issues such as climate change, resource depletion, inequality and well-being, ecological and economic stability. The programme explores the relationships between learning and social and environmental change in complex, global circumstances, through local places and educational contexts.
