Cardiovascular Biology

This programme provides a broadly based training in bio-medical research with a focus on cardiovascular science and the molecular and cellular basis of cardiovascular disease. Major themes include an introduction in the development of the heart; genetic control; organ function; programming of cardiovascular disease in early life; organ dysfunction and repair; the cardiovascular system in reproduction and in inflammation.

Entry requirements

Applicants require a UK 2.1 undergraduate degree or its international equivalent in a relevant biological discipline, or in a medical / veterinary qualification; applicants must also be formally interviewed; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL internet-based test 92 (with at least 20 in each module); PTE 61 (with at least 56 in each of the communicative skills sections); or CPE grade C or CAE grade B.
