This programme is aimed at those interested in imaging sciences, light microscopy, preclinical imaging and clinical imaging (including subsections like cardio-thoracic, oncologic and neuro-imaging).

Entry requirements

Applications are welcome from graduates and professionals in the fields of radiology, radiography, surgery, medicine and veterinary medicine, biology, biomedical sciences, physics, engineering, chemistry, light microscopy, preclincal / animal based research, pharmacology, image processing, image analysis, computer science, informatics, and infometrics; applicants require a relevant undergraduate degree with a UK 2.1 or higher result, or its equivalent if outside the UK; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL internet-based test 92 (with at least 20 in each module); PTE 61 (with at least 56 in each of the communicative skills sections); or CPE grade C or CAE grade B.

Course modules

Year 1 (Certificate) modules include: techniques and physics practicalities and safety; applications in disease research; clinical applications; digital image processing and analysis; image interpretation and evaluation. Year 2 (Diploma) modules include: statistics; study design; biomechanics; light microscopy; preclinical imaging; neuro-anatomy; body anatomy; translational imaging; cardiovascular imaging; oncologic imaging; imaging in inflammation and infection. Year 3 (Master's) module: practical project.
