Sustainable Resource Management

This programme is designed for people with career interests in organisations with responsibility for environmental planning, resource allocation and overseeing the impact of resource management decisions. You will benefit from practical knowledge and hands-on experience from government and non-government experts, and explore questions surrounding society's coordination of natural resources; how we can manage them better and prioritise their use.

Entry requirements

A UK 2.1 Honours degree, or its international equivalent. Applicants holding a UK 2.2 degree, or its international equivalent, may also be considered, especially with evidence of relevant work experience. Undergraduate students and individuals with backgrounds in business, economics, geography, engineering and agricultural and environmental sciences, as well as many others, have all studied and benefited from this Master's degree. English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 (with no score lower than 6.0 in each section); TOEFL-iBT total 100 (with no score lower than 20 in each section); A degree from an English speaking university may be accepted in some circumstances.

Course modules

Core courses: Integrated resource management; integrated resource planning; dissertation. Suggested option courses may include: Atmospheric quality and global change; energy policy and politics; environmental impact assessment; forests and environment; foundations in ecological economics; frameworks to assess food security; geology for Earth resources; human dimensions of environmental change and sustainability; participation in policy and planning; principles of environmental sustainability; principles of geographical information science; project appraisal; sustainability of food production; understanding environment and development; waste reduction and recycling; water resource management.

Dissertation.
