Criminology and Criminal Psychology

This course offers an advanced qualification useful to graduates who wish to work within a variety of occupations across both public and private sectors, including the police force, law enforcement agencies and many more. Upon completion, we offer the opportunity for you to progress on to study for a Postgraduate Diploma (awarded after 120 credits) and a full Masters (awarded after 180 credits).

Entry requirements

Academic entry route: An undergraduate degree from an approved institution equivalent to a UK Honours degree or a relevant professional qualification. If English is not your first language, your English ability should be equivalent to IELTS (Academic) 6.5.

Work experience entry route: At least 5 years' senior level work experience. If English is not your first language, your English ability should be equivalent to IELTS (Academic) 6.5.

Course modules

Core modules: criminal victimisation (20 credits); complex criminal investigations (20 credits); practical psychology for policing (20 credits).

Assessment methods

We adopt an assignment-based approach to assessment instead of exams. Assessment will be based on a combination of written coursework.
