This is an advanced qualification designed to equip busy health professionals with a recognised qualification from a UK university while continuing to work at the same time. The knowledge and skills you develop will help to expand your sphere of influence in a current health role or provide a base from which to explore employment opportunities in a public health setting. If you pass the Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health successfully, and feel confident to continue with your studies, we will give you the option to enrol on further modules to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health or the full Master of Public Health programme.
Core modules: health promotion (20 credits); topics in public health (20 credits); health needs assessment and priority setting (20 credits).
We adopt an assignment-based approach to assessment instead of exams. Assessment will be based on a combination of written assignments and engagement in online discussion forums.
