Telecommunication and Information Systems

Starting from the concept of a signal, we cover the fundamentals of how signals are acquired, processed and transmitted over a wide range of media (electronic, optical and radio). Our laboratory work shows how these principles are put into practice and how students software development skills are improved through a series of lectures, exercises and assignments. Building on this, we explore a number of state-of-the-art topics in detail though optional modules, giving students an opportunity to tailor what they learn according to their interests and chosen career.

Entry requirements

Our applicants should have a 1st, 2.1 or high 2.2 degree, or equivalent, in computer science, electronic engineering or a related discipline. If English is not your 1st language, then we require IELTS 6.0, or equivalent.
