This courses gives students training in basic mathematics techniques if their 1st degree contained only a modest amount of mathematics.
Upper 2nd Class Honours degree, or equivalent, in relevant subject; IELTS 6.0.
Analysis; combinatorial optimisation; complex variables and applications; cryptography and codes; experimental design; graph theory; introduction to numerical methods; linear algebra; linear models; linear models; mathematical biology; mathematical methods; mathematics of portfolios; mathematics teaching project; nonlinear programming; optimisation (linear programming); ordinary differential equations; probability and statistics i; project: mathematics; project: mathematics; the laws of physics; vector calculus.
Combination of written coursework, end-of-term tests, practical and laboratory work (where appropriate) and end-of-year exams.
