Accounting and Finance
Our applicants should have a 1st, 2.1 or high 2.2 degree, or equivalent, in accounting or a related discipline. If English is not your 1st language, then we require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
Core modules: Dissertation; research methods and methodologies in accounting and management; research methods in finance (empirical methods in finance); issues in financial reporting; portfolio management; postgraduate mathematics preparation. Optional modules include: Accounting and professionalism; asset pricing; audit theory; bank strategy and risk; behavioural finance; cases in corporate governance; corporate finance; derivative securities; e-commerce; exchange rates and international finance; financial modelling; fixed income securities; industry expert lectures in finance; international financial reporting; international management accounting; issues in financial reporting; management accounting; modern banking; portfolio management; postgraduate mathematics preparation; risk management; strategy and accounting; trading global financial markets.
Assessment is by coursework, presentations, case studies, group work, tests and examinations, culminating in the submission of a 15,000-word dissertation.
