Accounting and Finance
This course develops student's understanding of advanced accounting together with finance topics and methods. Compulsory modules allow students to critically discuss many of the recent developments in both theoretical and empirical approaches to accounting and corporate finance. Students are also able to pursue specialist interests with up to 2 optional modules. Furthermore, in order to prepare students for writing their dissertation, there is a full year module on research methodologies and methods, which includes both quantitative and qualitative approaches to empirical research. Although this is a self-contained course, if students successfully complete students are encouraged to continue their academic studies by applying for a PhD.
