The Applied Geology and Mineralogy Research Group is involved in projects ranging from pure �academic� geology, through to applied research directly relevant to the earth resources industries. In particular the group has expertise in the geological formation and evaluation of mineral resources (including industrial minerals, precious metals and diamonds); environmental mineralogy and geochemistry; geostatistics; applied sedimentology; structural geology; and regional geological research.
Normally a good UK Honours degree (2.1 Honours or international equivalent). Additional entry requirements may apply for certain research degrees and applicants should follow any specific guidance on the department�s website. If the applicant is an international student, they also need to satisfy our English language entry requirements.
