This course covers all aspects of the Key Stage 3 (age 11-16) curriculum with enhancement in the post-16 curriculum and prepares trainees to teach the 11-18 age range. It includes time spent on school placements and university study and leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Degree in relevant subject; GCSE grade C in English and mathematics; Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; fitness to teach medical assessment; interview; professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy.
Modules include: secondary professional studies; secondary subject specialism; secondary school-based work: placements in 2 different schools.
