Primary Education (Upper Primary, Modern Foreign Languages)

This course covers some aspects of the Key Stage 1 (age 5-7) curriculum and all aspects of the Key Stage 2 (age 7-11) curriculum with time spent on school placements and university study. It leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Entry requirements

Degree in relevant subject; GCSE grade C in English, mathematics and science (please note that for Primary applicants although the TA requirement is a grade C, applicants are generally only considered with a grade B or above in mathematics and English and a grade C in science); Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; fitness to teach medical assessment; interview; professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy.

Course modules

Modules include: primary modern foreign language (MFL) specialist studies; core curriculum studies; educational and professional studies; school-based work: placements in 2 schools.
