Professional Development in Education
The Professional Development in Education route is recommended for those who: are interested in a particular module but are not intending to study for a Master's qualification; don't wish to commit to a Masters' programme at the outset but would like to accumulate credits towards a qualification should they decide to take further modules in future.
Entry requirements
Applicants are normally expected to have obtained a 1st degree equivalent to at least a UK upper 2nd Class Honours or Master's level credits (eg PGCE) in a relevant discipline. Applicants normally are also expected to have at least 3 months' professional experience in an educational or other relevant setting. Please note that some modules require Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, specific experience and/or current practice. For applicant's whose 1st language is not English: applicants need to submit evidence of their proficiency in English. Accepted Englsih tests: IELTS; TOEFL IBT; Pearson Test of English Academic.
Assessment methods
All modules are assessed through course work and there are no final examinations. Assessments are varied and include essays, online projects, portfolios and presentations.
