Provides social science and politics-specific research training which is required for Doctoral research or to pursue a career as a professional researcher. Topics covered include: elements of research design in politics; quantitative data analysis in political science; qualitative research methods in the social sciences; logics of explanation in politics.
A 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent, supported by strong evidence of research potential in undergraduate work, eg through level 3 independent project or dissertation and/or through testimonial from academic referees.
Through written assignments and the dissertation.
