Science and Technology Studies
The course gives a broad-based knowledge of social science research methods, as well as core research training within a contemporary sociology context. Develops understanding of the origins, history and development of science and technology studies and its theoretical underpinnings. Students gain the skills for PhD research or a career as a professional researcher. This programme forms part of the ESRC South West Doctoral Training Centre and can lead to a funded PhD studentship for UK/EU students.
Normally a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent in a discipline related to the programme.
Coursework or a combination of coursework and written examination, plus a dissertation of up to 30,000 words.
