Philosophy (conversion programme)

This course enables students to gain in-depth knowledge of the core areas of the subject and to acquire the key research skills for pursuing and developing their own philosophical interests.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements for postgraduate taught programmes are a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification (for example, GPA 3.0 or above) in a relevant subject unless otherwise specified.

Course modules

Introduction to analytic philosophy; moral philosophy; epistemology; political philosophy; metaphysics; philosophy of language; philosophy of logic and mathematics; origins of analytic philosophy; philosophy of religion; philosophy of Scottish enlightenment.; a dissertation guided by individual support from an expert supervisor.
