Advanced Lymphoedema Management

This programme provides the advancing healthcare professional wishing to study at Master's level the opportunity to learn the theory and practice of advanced skills in the management of complex lymphoedema, including the Casley-Smith technique of Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Entry requirements

Professional qualification of either Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, radiography) or Medical Practitioner; successful completion of a recognised lymphoedema course to the level equivalent to the University of Glasgow graduate certificate in Lymphoedema Practice; preferably a minimum of 2 years clinical experience post qualifying; currently working with people with lymphoedema/chronic oedema or have confirmed pre-arranged access to such patients for the period of the course; a good 1st degree or equivalent (evidence of academic work within the past 5 years); international students with academic qualifications below those required should contact our partner institution, Glasgow International College, who offer a range of pre-Master's courses. For applicants whose first language is not English, the University sets a minimum English language proficiency level; IELTS: overall score 6.5 with no sub-test less than 6.0 or equivalent scores in another recognised qualification (see below). Common equivalent English language qualifications: all stated English tests are acceptable for admission for both home/EU and international students for this programme: ibTOEFL: 92; no sub-test less than 20; CAE (Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English): 176 overall; no sub-test less than 169; CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English): 176 overall; no sub-test less than 169; PTE Academic (Person Test of English, Academic test): 60; no sub-test less than 59.
