Sports therapy is an emerging profession within the UK that is based on providing elite and non elite sportsmen and women the highest standards of care in relation to their sports injury and performance needs; sports therapy as a profession is seeking Health Professions Council recognition and protection of title, in the same way that other allied health professions are regulated and protected; a sports therapist has a unique skill set which serve to prevent, diagnose and rehabilitate sports related injuries in the clinical or sporting environment.
Students must have completed a BSc Honours in sport science, sport and exercise science or related area.
Modules include: Sports therapy 1; manual therapy; sports therapy 2; sports therapy 3; postgraduate enquiry; independent project.
