The programme will focus on understanding customer needs and developing business and marketing relationships in the retail sector in order to present a competitive offer. You will learn about the importance of supply chain management, logistics, merchandising and developing a retail strategy for long-term business success. The role of technology in retailing to communicate, inform, facilitate and complete transactions will be explored. The programme recognises the shift in emphasis from the 'bricks and mortar' retailing of the old-style High Street to multi-channel approaches to market that incorporate new ways of accessing customers such as on-line retailing, social media links, re-emerging traditional markets and contemporary marketing channels.
Students will need at least a 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent; international students need IELTS 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in any other band) or equivalent
Modules include: Retail management principles; e-marketing; retail operations management; managing customer relationships; developing a retail brand; strategic management.
