Computing (Dependable Software)
This specialist software engineering route enables students to develop high-level software engineering skills, combining the theory, tools, methods and management techniques necessary to create dependable software products; this is a challenging course, leading students to explore concepts in programming languages that support or inhibit the development of dependable systems; students understand how to design, build and test correct, robust and secure software, applying appropriate development methodologies and tools; students also focus on IT project management, ethical and quality issues, the human-computer interface and research methods, providing students with a broad and well-balanced perspective.
An Honours degree, or equivalent; comparable professional qualifications are considered; a reasonable level of computer literacy is expected.
Modules include: programming languages and dependability; development of dependable software; digital innovation and usability; database management; network security; dissertation.
