Computing and Information Systems

This programme is designed for graduates with a good first degree who have had no formal academic training in computing. It is especially useful for those with an interest in getting into the IT-related job market, or who are already working in the area but would like formal training and up-to-date skills. This programme has been very successful in providing students with new job opportunities in the computing industry.

Entry requirements

A first degree from a recognised university. Potential applicants who have substantial commercial or industrial experience but who lack formal qualifications should seek an interview with the programme leader.

Course modules

Modules include: Project and dissertation; systems design and development; strategic IT; project management; software tools and techniques; data modelling; interaction design; user centred web engineering, or, managing it security and risk; audit and security; outsourcing and IT management.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through examinations, coursework and a project.
