PR and Corporate Communications

The programme provides students with a grounding in traditional theory and practice alongside an understanding of recent developments and challenges for the profession. These include the impact of the internet and the growth of social media; the decline of traditional media; growing issues of corporate social responsibility influencing organisational reputation; and the increasing influence of other social science disciplines on PR theory and practice.

Entry requirements

A postgraduate professional qualification in a related discipline; plus 1 year's relevant employment; a related degree plus 1 year's relevant full-time employment; an unrelated UK degree plus 2 year's experience; for those without a degree 4 year's relevant full-time employment in public relations or related environment and 5 GCSE passes, 1 of which must be in English language; where English is not 1st language IELTS 6.5; or TOEFL; or equivalent are required.

Assessment methods

Assessment includes written assignments, blogs, presentations and a dissertation.
