A degree at 2.2 or above, or equivalent qualification; and either current registration with the NMC or HCPC or other relevant professional, statutory and regulatory body; or for the Safeguarding Children and Young People and Sexual Health pathways only, evidence of substantial experience of working in the health and social care sector, currently fulfilling a senior role. You should be in current employment, with at least one year's experience in the field of practice relevant to your chosen pathway. If you were educated in a language other than English and/or in a country where English speakers are in a minority, you should have a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill) or an equivalent rating in another secure English language Test.
Modules include: Enquiry skills and research 1; applied leadership in health and social care 1; enquiry skills and research 2; applied leadership in health and social care 2; systematic review - students will investigate an area of professional practice that is focused on developing evidence based practice; independent research project relevant to own field of practice - students will frame a question and execute a research based project; a work based project - students will implement and evaluate a practice initiative or change with an explicit aim to improve professional practice.
The assessment strategy is designed to encourage learners to read, think and to prepare an appropriate professional response to the contemporary topics that make up the content of the programme. Each assessment is designed to assess the learner's ability to comprehend a topic as a foundation upon which a full critical debate relating to the contemporary practice of Health and Social care professionals can be built.
