Nursing (Mental Health Nursing)

The University of Greenwich provides excellent teaching facilities with knowledgeable academic staff and very well equipped skills laboratories to allow students opportunities to practice their skills in a safe simulated environment. The university have excellent working partnerships with the NHS trusts where the students are placed. Practice learning is provided in 3 NHS Trusts (1 in Kent and 2 in London) where students will gain a wide range of experience in preparation towards becoming a Registered mental health nurse with the NMC. Student support is very important to the University with a wide range of support systems which include personal tutors, mentors, teaching teams, programme teams and a very comprehensive range of student support services.

Entry requirements

A 1st Class Honours degree, 2.1 or 2.2 in a subject related to nursing such human science, health or social care; plus a minimum of 3 GCSEs including English language and mathematics at grade C or above, or equivalent; plus experience of working/volunteering in a health/social care setting for at least 12 months or part-time equivalent. Students who do not have English as their 1st language will be required to demonstrate an IELTS score of 7.0 with not less than 6.0 achieved in any element. Candidates must attend an interview and undertake literacy and numeracy testing. They must also provide evidence of a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service and health checks. Applicants must be eligible for an NHS Bursary.
