Secondary Education (Physical Education)
Theoretical and practical physical education sessions are timetabled to enable subject-specific issues to be analysed and discussed. Topics such as lesson planning, differentiated tasks and outcomes, teaching methods and assessment in physical education are considered with subject-specialist staff. A significant number of lectures,seminars and workshops are common to all PGCE Secondary subjects.
A recognised degree in an appropriate sports-related subject. This should have a substantial practical component which relates to the activity areas of physical education in the National Curriculum. GCSE mathematics and English language at grade C or above or equivalent qualifications.
