Professional Engineering

The programme aims to provide an opportunity for the student to critically review the MSc programme of study and reflect on the benefits to his/her career; To encourage students to appreciate that learning is an inherent part of a professional engineer's career, the student is required to consider any remaining requirements for CEng and future development opportunities.

Entry requirements

A related degree is required; further entry requirements are available on request.

Course modules

Modules include: Professional engineering; current engineering technology; major project; exit gateway professional engineering; professional development.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through project work based on the following: Learning that is negotiated within the context of the candidate's workplace and that meets Level 7 Master's criteria; Outcomes that meet both Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and UK-SPEC requirements; Evidence of reflection on the link between theoretical principles and professional practice.
