International Tourism and Hospitality Management
The course allows students to specialise in an area of interest or relevance i.e: planning for tourism destinations; events management; or project management.
An Honours degree (2.2 or above) or equivalent; applicants who do not meet the formal entry requirement but have considerable experience of working in the tourism industry may be accepted; minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or 6.0 plus completion of the university's 4-week pre-sessional English course, or equivalent is required for those whose 1st language is not English.
Modules include: Contemporary themes: tourism, hospitality, event management; decision making for managers (ith); dissertation; international tourism marketing; people management and development; research methods for tourism, hospitality and event management. Optional modules: crisis and risk management in events; ethical dimensions of tourism; live project: tourism, hospitality, event management; residential field trip.
Assessment is based on presentations, reports, projects and a dissertation.
