Dietetics (advanced practice)
This programme is designed to meet the needs of dietitians from different areas of practice. It supports independent learning and reflection in practice, and enhances students' specialist professional skills.
A recognised qualification in dietetics; plus at least 1 year post-qualification experience as a dietitian; plus a 2.2 Honours degree; provide evidence of appropriate continued professional development; interview and references; where English is not 1st language IELTS score of 7.0 is required.
Modules include: Developing and managing people in healthcare; facilitation of education in practice 1; facilitation of education in practice 2; gastroenterology - nutritional and dietetic management; independent professional study 1; independent professional study 2; independent reflection in professional practice 1; independent reflection in professional practice 2; independent work based skills 1; independent work based skills 2; preparing for postgraduate success; research dissertation; research methods; research methods distance learning; weight management.
Assessment is based on essays, presentations, reports, posters and practical examinations.
