Social Interventions

This course has 4 different pathways: children and young people; adults services; practice educator; mental health which offers the option of a AHMH route or a non-AHMH route; students who are registered social workers are eligible for the relevant GSCC PQ awards.

Entry requirements

Honours degree; plus 3 years post-qualified experience; applicants need to be working in or have access to a practice setting; mental health AMHP applicants need to have sponsorship from Local Authority or Heatlh Trusts; applicants whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.0.

Course modules

Each pathway has a number of modules reflecting the specialist area; for example: those for the Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) Mental Health pathway has 2 30-credit specialist modules: applied mental health law and managing health assessments; the structure of the programme is designed such that there is sharing of learning across discipline groups as well as specific learning within their own discipline area.
