Dermatology Skills and Treatment
This programme offers the opportunity for generalist clinicians to develop more specialist dermatology knowledge. However, the programme is sufficiently robust for clinicians already working in this speciality to update and enhance their knowledge and skills.
An Honours degree in a related discipline or evidence of equivalent professional development. 2 years' post-qualifying clinical experience of a minimum of 1 year in a clinical setting with access to patients with chronic skin conditions. Students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
Modules include: Evidence based practice; health disciplines project; management of skin lesions; skin surgery skills; chronic skin conditions; mind and the skin; therapeutics of skin conditions; vulval disorders. Optional modules: skin integrity and tissue repair; enhanced skin integrity skills; business skills for clinicians; leadership in practice.
