MBBS degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) or equivalent from a recognised institution registered with a relevant UK professional body. 2 years full time (or equivalent) experience within a relevant field. Employment in, or access to, an appropriate area of psychiatric practice whilst enrolled on the programme. If English is not the 1st language an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent is required.
Modules include: Foundation skills in psychiatric practice; principles of psychopharmacology and neurosciences; developing skills and competence in psychiatric practice; approaches and organisation of specialist mental health service delivery; service improvement project; students then earn remaining credits from a range of optional or common interest modules such as: recovery and social inclusion: partnerships in mental health care; foundation in CBT skills; narrative enquiry in health and medicine.
