Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
This course focuses on providing the clinical skills and academic understanding needed to function as a cognitive behavioural therapist.
A professional qualification in health or social care, and a good 1st degree (a minimum of 2nd class) that relates to working with mental health service users, plus 3 years post qualifying practice experience in a health or social care setting to allow for consolidation of learning. Or a good 1st degree (a minimum of 2nd class) in a health related topic or equivalent plus a minimum of 4 years practice experience working within a health or social care setting. Applicants will need to secure their own placement and have access to external clinical supervision.
Modules include: Behavioural therapy beginning with clinical supervision; common mental health problems 1; foundation in cognitive behavioural therapy skills.
Assessment is based on a dissertation.
