Risk Disaster and Environmental Management
This course looks at all risks in the business environment together with a strong analysis of the consequences when things go wrong. The course is structured around 3 core management themes: risk; disaster; and environment. The course aims to help students understand how we interact with the natural environment and will explore how human activity can be managed to minimise negative environmental damage.
A good 1st degree (2.2 or above) in an area of business, management, marketing, accountancy or economics. Applicants with appropriate professional qualifications or work experience will be considered on an individual basis.
Modules include: disaster and emergency management; the anatomy of disasters; principles of environmental management; principles of risk; corporate governance and business ethics; research methods and techniques; sustainable business; business continuity management.
Most modules are assessed by coursework in the form of reports, essays and presentations.
