Advanced Architectural Design
The programme covers the following key themes: principles of advanced design, theory and practice; sustainable architecture; design management; urban design; research methods.
A 2.2 Honours degree or above in an appropriate subject or equivalent. Alternative qualifications and/or significant experience may be accepted, subject to approval. International students must provide evidence of proficiency in English - if below the required level, pre-sessional English courses are available. International students with qualifications in 'creative' or �practice' subjects should submit a portfolio of work with their application. All suitably qualified applicants are normally interviewed or considered for admittance under alternative arrangements. Interview will be by portfolio of practice based and/or theoretical work and a statement of intent.
Core modules: sustainable and bioclimatic design; advanced architecture (theory and practice); integrated urban design and architecture; research methods; major project. Optional modules: Architectural practice management and law; BIM at the project level (collaborative approaches); communities engagement for social innovation.
Assessment is through a combination of written reports, presentations and examinations.
