Design Integration and Building Information Modelling
This course focuses on developing skills and competences to enable you to effectively manage and maximise benefits from design integration and the use of BIM technology in projects, building from state of the art research and leading edge practice. If you are an architect, architectural technologist, engineering designer, project manager, surveyor or other construction professional, this course will enable you to develop knowledge on integrated processes, BIM and how it can be best deployed, managed and maintained throughout the whole project lifecycle. A special feature of this course is the multidisciplinary approach, in which students from diverse construction related backgrounds will study together to understand the project complexity and the information needs of diverse project stakeholders. The course aims to focus on process improvement through lean design and construction, with the use of supporting BIM tools. This course aims to provide students with the necessary skills to lead projects to deliver value through the utilisation of digital information, making better and faster decisions in multidisciplinary, collaborative working environments. Therefore, you will have opportunity to develop the skills needed to support integrated design and delivery solutions with BIM technologies.
