Fashion Textile Practices

The course allows students to explore a range of fashion and textile directions. It offers continuing or recent graduates opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, creativity and employment prospects, through imaginative enquiry into different fashion, textile and surface platforms and processes.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent with a 2.2 or above. Alternative qualifications and/or significant experience may be accepted, subject to approval. For applicants whose 1st language or language of instruction is not English you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English language qualification. The minimum of IELTS 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, will be considered acceptable, or equivalent. All suitably qualified applicants are normally invited in for an informal chat with a portfolio or considered for admittance under alternative arrangements, such as a skype chat.

Course modules

Modules include: Research methods and project proposal; fashion and textile concepts; creative innovation and entrepreneurship; fashion and textile processes; major project.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a combination of written reports, presentations, and the production and critique of craft, culminating in an exposition of work in the form of theoretical and/or practice based work.
