This course is designed to provide graduate engineers with the engineering management knowledge and skills to allow them to pursue careers in management positions within engineering and other industrial and commercial sectors. It will also provide students with the education and training competences required by the Engineering Council for those who wish to become both Engineering Managers and Chartered Engineers.
Entry requirements for this course are usually the following: Honours degree (or equivalent experience) in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, engineering systems or a closely related science subject area.
Modules include: professional development and research methods; total quality engineering; strategic management; logistics operations/techniques; new product development; project management; finance for managers; development of dimensional measurement; advanced technical project.
Examination, assignment, project work and research/lab activities.
