The course allows students to concentrate on their choice of the following subject areas: art and design technology; business, law, recreation and leisure, travel and tourism; construction, engineering; hair and beauty and hospitality; English, media studies and performing arts; health, social care and early years; science, sport and public services; literacy, numeracy, learning difficulties and disabilities; Mathematics, Multimedia Studies (including music technology) and ICT.
Good relevant degree required.
The modules include: advanced studies in teaching a specialist subject; advanced studies in curriculum and professional issues; teaching learning and assessment; personal and professional development; plus: principles of teaching, learning and assessment; teaching and researching in lifelong learning.
Assessment of progress takes place in formal classrooms and in student-centered learning situations.
