Subject Knowledge Enhancement (Mathematics)
This course prepares graduates from non-mathematical disciplines for the PGCE in secondary mathematics; participants received �200 per week to support them during the course; this course gives the student the necessary mathematical knowledge for a teacher training course leading to Qualified Teacher Status; it is suitable for anyone, regardless of their existing level of qualification in mathematics, provided they have some flair for the subject; degree subject is not relevant; application is through the GTTR for a teacher training place. Candidates should simply mention their interest in following an SKE course in their personal statement.
A degree in any subject, class 2.2 or above; GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English language and mathematics.
Participants receive �150 per week for the duration of the Mathematics Enhancement Course.
