This specialist pathway is aimed at those interested in exploring the application and impact of technologies in educational settings. The pathway is ideal for: Teachers, lecturers and support staff working in formal educational contexts where technology is increasingly used to support learning; museum curators, heritage specialists and other professionals interested in using technology outside of formal settings to support learners;work-based mentors and supervisors who wish to explore how mobile technologies support learning in the workplace; leaders and those responsible for the strategic implementation of new technologies in educational settings.
1st degree or equivalent in relevant subject or appropriate experience in a professional environment; competence in English is required for international students. For example: IELTS with 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each skill; previous study in English is accepted; candidates that do not meet the language requirements may take an English course at the University of Hull prior to entering the programme.
You study 3 core modules: Contemporary and critical perspectives in education; research methodologies in education; international and intercultural education. And a specialised module: Digital technologies. You then complete a 60 credit dissertation which will allows you to identify and examine a topic of interest to you. You may exit the programme after stage 1 with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, or after stage 2 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education if you have earned sufficient credits.
